경북도는 지난달 4일 국가첨단전략산업위원회의 특화단지 지정 일정공개에 이어 같은 달 29일 지역 30여개 기관․단체장으로 구성된‘경북 반도체산업 초격차 육성위원회 대국민 선언식’을 진행 했다고 19일 밝혔다.

19일에는 도 및 구미시, 경북 반도체산업 초격차 육성위원 등 관계자 20여명이 참석한 가운데 ‘반도체 특화단지 지정 타당성 조사 연구용역’ 착수보고회를 개최해 특화단지 지정 요건을 검토하고 향후 공모 일정에 발 빠르게 대응하기로 했다.

이번 착수보고회 원익QnC 백홍주 대표이사(경북 반도체산업 초격차 육성 공동위원장) 및 SK실트론, KEC 등 기업위원 등이 참여해 특화단지 지정 요건 검토 및 육성계획 수립 등에 대해 힘을 모으고 추진방안을 공유했다.

특히, 백홍주 공동위원장은 “도의 반도체 특화단지 지정을 위해 기업의 모든 역량을 동원하여 지원하겠다”며 특화단지 지정에 대해 참석한 지역 반도체 기업들의 강한 의지를 대변했다.

한편, 국가첨단전략산업위원회의 특화단지 지정 절차는 공모 절차 개시 후 약 2개월 정도 소요될 것으로 전망된다.

또 내년도 1월 중에 기업 및 17개 시‧도를 대상으로 특화단지 지정 요건‧분야‧절차, 육성계획서 작성 지침 등에 관한 설명회를 개최할 것으로 예상된다.

이에 경북도는 반도체 기업, 대학, 연구기관 등의 의견을 청취해 특화단지 지정 요건 검토와 육성계획(안)을 가다듬어 나갈 계획이다.

또 지역의 선도 기업을 중심으로 전후방 연계효과가 극대화될 수 있도록 지속적인 네트워킹을 통해 세부전략을 마련해 나갈 예정이다.
