【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 행정안전부가 16일 안동시에 위치한 마을기업 ‘다누림협동조합’을 방문해 사회연대경제 우수사례를 확인하고 현장의 목소리를 청취했다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 지역 자원을 활용해 청년 일자리를 창출하고 공동체 회복에 기여하고 있는 마을기업의 성과를 살펴보고, 지역 활성화 사례를 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.

안동 신세동 벽화마을은 2009년 ‘마을미술 프로젝트’를 통해 조성된 공공미술 기반 도시재생 마을로, 노후 주거지역을 문화와 관광이 결합된 공간으로 탈바꿈시킨 대표적인 마을기업 성공 사례로 꼽힌다. 특히 청년 마을기업인 다누림협동조합이 중심이 되어 지역 관광과 문화 콘텐츠 사업을 운영하며 지역 활성화를 이끌고 있다.

2015년 설립된 다누림협동조합(대표 신경진)은 지역 청년과 주민이 함께 참여하는 마을기업으로, 안동포타운과 월영장터 운영 등 지역 문화 콘텐츠를 활용한 행사 기획과 관광기념품 제작을 통해 자립형 사회연대경제 모델을 구축해왔다.

이날 윤호중 행정안전부 장관은 다누림협동조합 판매장과 마을공방 ‘오늘도여기’를 둘러보며 안동 무드등과 마그넷 등 지역 특색이 담긴 관광기념품 제작 과정을 참관했다. 또 인근 동부초등학교 방과후 돌봄 프로그램 등 마을 공동체 활성화 사례에도 관심을 보였다.

윤 장관은 “안동시의 우수 마을기업 현장을 직접 보니 청년의 정착과 주민의 참여가 지역에 실질적인 변화를 만들 수 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 지역 청년들이 주민과 함께 지역에 뿌리내리고 새로운 가능성을 만들어갈 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

경북도는 지역 공동체 회복과 지역경제 활성화를 위해 마을기업 지정 단계별 사업비 지원, 온·오프라인 판로 확대, 혁신성장 사업개발비 지원, 글로벌 진출 지원 등 성장 단계별 지원체계를 구축하고 있다.

특히 올해 행정안전부 마을기업 지정 심사에서 신규 7곳, 재지정 3곳, 고도화 2곳 등 총 12개 마을기업이 선정돼 역량 강화와 자립 기반 마련을 위한 사업비를 지원받게 됐다.

황명석 경북도 행정부지사는 “다누림협동조합과 신세동 벽화마을 사례는 청년과 주민이 함께 지역 자원을 활용해 새로운 활력을 만들어가는 의미 있는 사례”라며 “앞으로도 마을기업이 지역경제와 공동체 활성화의 중요한 기반이 될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province announced that the Ministry of the Interior and Safety visited the ‘Danurim Cooperative,’ a village enterprise located in Andong, on the 16th to verify best practices in the social solidarity economy and listen to voices from the field.

This visit was arranged to examine the achievements of village enterprises that utilize local resources to create jobs for young people and contribute to community recovery, and to share examples of regional revitalization.

The Sinse-dong Mural Village in Andong is a public art-based urban regeneration village established through the ‘Village Art Project’ in 2009. It is considered a representative success story of a village enterprise that transformed an aging residential area into a space combining culture and tourism. In particular, the Danurim Cooperative, a youth village enterprise, is leading regional revitalization by operating local tourism and cultural content businesses.

Established in 2015, Danurim Cooperative (Representative Shin Kyung-jin) is a village enterprise in which local youth and residents participate together. It has built a self-reliant social solidarity economy model by planning events utilizing local cultural content—such as the operation of Andongpo Town and Woryeong Market—and by producing tourist souvenirs.

On this day, Minister of the Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-joong toured the Danurim Cooperative’s sales facility and the village workshop "Today is Here," observing the production process of tourist souvenirs featuring local characteristics, such as Andong mood lights and magnets. He also showed interest in examples of community revitalization, including the after-school care program at the nearby Dongbu Elementary School.

Minister Yoon stated, "Seeing the sites of Andong City's outstanding village enterprises firsthand, I was able to confirm that the settlement of youth and the participation of residents can bring about tangible change in the region." He added, "We will continue to actively support local youth so that they can take root in the community alongside residents and create new possibilities." Gyeongbuk Province is establishing a support system tailored to each stage of growth to restore local communities and revitalize the regional economy. This system includes providing project funding at each stage of village enterprise designation, expanding online and offline sales channels, supporting the development of innovative growth projects, and facilitating global expansion.

In particular, during this year's review by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, a total of 12 village enterprises were selected—including 7 new enterprises, 3 re-designated enterprises, and 2 advanced enterprises—to receive project funding for capacity building and establishing a foundation for self-reliance.

Hwang Myeong-seok, Vice Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, "The cases of the Danurim Cooperative and the Sinse-dong Mural Village are meaningful examples of youth and residents working together to create new vitality by utilizing local resources." He added, "We will continue to actively support village enterprises so that they can serve as a crucial foundation for the revitalization of the regional economy and communities."
