【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=CES2023 참석을 위해 미국을 방문한 이달희 경북도 경제부지사가 현지시각으로 인공지능 시대에 불을 지핀 가속 컴퓨팅의 선구자인 NVIDIA 본사를 방문했다.

12일 경북도에 따르면 이 부지사는 NVIDIA는 NIVIDA 임원들과 만나 경북도와 기업체 간 소개를 시작으로 상호 사업현황에 대해 심도 깊게 논의했다.

이를 바탕으로 도는 지역 우수 SW와 반도체 기업 간 협력을 강화하고 NVIDIA와 협력해 메타버스 사업 추진에 박차를 가할 예정이다.

이달희 경제부지사는 “경북도는 해외 유수기업과 협업을 통한 일자리 창출을 위해 여기 미국 본토까지 달려왔다”면서 “대한민국 최고로 기업하기 좋은 지역 경북은 반도체, AI 등을 주력 산업으로 육성하기 위해 세계적인 기업 NVIDIA와 향후 긴밀히 협의하겠다”고 밝혔다.

경북도는 지난 5일부터 8일까지 미국 라스베가스에서 포항시, 경상북도경제진흥원, 도내 기업체들과 함께‘CES2023 경상북도관’을 성공적으로 운영했다.

이달희 경제부지사는 CES박람회장을 방문해 도내 참가 기업체들을 격려하고, 국내외 기업체 부스를 방문하여 경북에 투자유치토록 홍보했다.

또한 11일부터는(美현지시각) 캐나다 토론토, 미국 버팔로 및 뉴욕을 잇달아 방문하여 유망 기업체 투자유치활동을 이어나간다.
