경상북도에 따르면 이 부지사는 경북이 주도하는 지방시대를 열어나가기 위해서는 광역교통망 구축 등 빠르고 편리한 교통 혁신의 필요성을 강조하며, 2023년도 지역의 주요 현안사업들의 국비확보 당위성을 직접 설명하고 건의했다.

이번에 건의한 사업은 고속도로, 철도, 국지도 등 79개 지구 SOC사업 국비 2조 8789억원이다.

특히, 2028년 개항 예정인 대구경북 통합신공항 활성화를 위한 교통 인프라 구축을 위해 ▷대구·경북 광역철도(서대구~의성) ▷중앙고속도로(읍내JC~ 군위JC) 확장 ▷북구미IC~군위JC간 고속도로 사업 추진에 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.

통합신공항의 성공적인 개항을 위해서는 접근성 향상과 물류수송을 담당할 도로 및 철도망 구축이 필수조건임을 설명했다.

특히, 통합신공항 관련 SOC사업은 국가계획에 모두 반영돼 있는 만큼 조속히 예비타당성조사가 추진될 수 있도록 협조를 구했다.

또 지역의 오랜 숙원사업인 영일만 횡단구간 고속도로와 문경점촌선(문경~점촌~김천) 사업도 정부의 신속한 사업추진과 국비예산이 확보 될 수 있도록 계속해서 노력해 줄 것을 건의했다.

아울러, 성주~대구간 고속도로, 중부내륙철도 등 도로 및 철도 사업, 국도, 국도대체우회도로, 국지도, 산단 진입도로, 도시재생뉴딜사업, 하천유지보수사업 등 내년도 건설도시분야 국가지원 예산도 꼼꼼히 살펴달라고 요청했다.

한편, 도는 지난해 말 2023년 국가예산사업의 밑그림을 완성하고 연초부터 국비확보에 집중하고 있다.

9월초 정부안 확정 전까지 관련부처를 수시 방문해 핵심 사업이 정부예산안에 최대한 반영될 수 있도록 지역 국회의원들과도 지속적으로 소통해 나갈 계획이다.
