이날 발제에 나선 정은미 산업연구원 본부장은 ‘우주항공방산 시대에 대응하는 탄소산업 발전방향’이란 주제로 미래 핵심소재로 각광받는 탄소소재에 대한 국가적 기술경쟁력 확보의 필요성을 강조했다.

이어 패널토론에서는 소재부터 완제품까지 공급망 협력을 통한 탄소소재 기술자립화 등 탄소산업 기반의 국내 우주항공방산산업 경쟁력 제고를 위한 정부와 기업, 대학, 연구기관 각자의 역할에 대해 심도 있게 논의했다.
