지난해 축제는 ‘전통과 현대의 조화로운 융복합’을 내세워 콘텐츠 경쟁력을 강화했다. 특히 새롭게 선보인 야간 특화 프로그램 ‘전통 낙화놀이’는 한국적 미학을 현대적으로 재해석해 호평을 받았다. 여기에 대규모 워터 퍼포먼스와 멀티미디어 공연을 접목해 야간 관광 콘텐츠를 대폭 확장했다.

박현국 봉화축제관광재단 이사장은 “이번 대상 수상은 봉화은어축제의 차별화된 콘텐츠 경쟁력과 군민들의 성숙한 시민의식이 만들어낸 결과”라며 “8년 연속 수상의 성과를 발판 삼아 올여름 봉화를 찾는 관광객에게 수준 높은 생태 체험과 문화 향유 기회를 제공하겠다”고 밝혔다.
