봉화군에 따르면 지난 18일 스마트팜 B동 1·2구역에 입주한 6명의 청년 농업인들이 토마토 2만6천 주를 정식한 데 이어, 21일 마지막 3구역 입주팀이 서양계 토마토 품종인 ‘데프니스(Dafnis)’ 1만3천 주를 추가로 정식하면서 전체 입주팀의 정식 일정이 완료됐다.

이번에 심은 토마토 모종은 경기 평택과 전북 정읍의 우수 육묘장에서 생산된 건실한 개체로, 오는 4월 첫 수확을 시작해 연중 안정적인 생산이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

임대형 스마트팜 단지는 총 3.6ha 규모로 산광불소필름 온실 2개 동으로 조성됐으며, 영농 기반이 부족한 청년 농업인들에게 안정적인 재배 환경을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다. 현재 단지에는 총 21명의 청년 농업인이 3인 1팀 형태로 입주해 첨단 환경제어 시스템을 활용한 고품질 농산물 생산에 나서고 있다.

봉화군은 이번 정식 완료를 계기로 임대형 스마트팜이 청년 농업인들의 안정적인 영농 정착을 돕는 핵심 거점이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 군은 앞으로도 현장 중심의 행정을 통해 입주 농가들의 의견을 적극 반영하고, 스마트 농업 확산을 위한 지원 체계를 지속적으로 보완해 나갈 계획이다.
