이번 홍보사업은 ‘생명보호가 일상으로, 서로의 안부를 나누세요’를 슬로건으로, 일상 속 작은 관심과 안부 인사가 소중한 생명을 지키는 출발점이 될 수 있다는 메시지를 지역사회 전반에 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.

군은 이를 위해 관내 주요 거점과 유동인구가 많은 장소를 중심으로 자살예방 홍보 현수막을 게시해 주민들이 자연스럽게 생명존중의 가치를 접하고, 심리적으로 어려움을 겪을 때 도움을 요청할 수 있는 환경을 조성할 계획이다.

자살예방 상담전화 ‘109’는 24시간 무료로 운영되며, 정신건강 상담과 위기 지원 서비스를 제공한다. 또한 봉화군정신건강복지센터는 자살 고위험군 상담을 비롯해 자살예방 교육, 자살유족 지원사업 등 다양한 정신건강 서비스를 운영하고 있다.
