지난 7일, 대구시(홍준표 시장)로부터 감사패를 받은 임병헌 의원은 24년도 국비예산 국회 심의과정에서 대구시와의 긴밀한 협조를 바탕으로 대구시 국비예산 확보에 기여했다는 평가를 받고 있다.

대구시는 작년 12월 21일 국회에서 의결된 2024년도 정부 예산안에서 투자사업 기준으로 4조 751억원을 확보했다. 

복지예산 2조 7835억원과 보통교부세 1조 3천억원을 포함하면 총 8조 1586억 원의 국가예산을 확보한 것으로 대구시 사상 첫 국비 8조원 시대에 진입했다. 

임병헌 의원은 “대구시가 역대 최대 예산 확보라는 성과를 거둘 수 있었던 것은 대구시와 관계기관이 함께 노력해준 결실이었다”며 “앞으로도 대구시 지역발전과 시민분들의 삶의 질 개선을 위한 예산 확보에 만전을 기하겠다”고 밝혔다.
