이번 포럼은 김병욱 의원이 주최하고 포스텍 ‘박태준미래전략연구소’가 주관으로 황희연 충북대학교 도시공학과 명예교수와 윤지웅 경희대학교 행정학과 교수가 발제를 맡았다.

황희연 충북대 도시공학과 명예교수는 ‘포항의 과거와 미래, 포스코와 함께 포스코를 극복해야’라는 주제로, 포스코와 포항시의 위기대응 전략을 분석하고 포항시의 미래 대비는 포스코와 포스텍으로부터 출발해야 한다고 강조했다.

‘도시의 미래를 위한 과학기술혁신’이라는 주제로 발표한 윤지웅 경희대 행정학과 교수는 스타트업, 연구기관, 투자자 및 다양한 산업과 기업을 유치하는 도시가 혁신의 플랫폼으로서 기회를 창출하는 도시라고 주장했다.

김병욱 의원은 “국토의 균형발전을 이루고 지방소멸을 방지하기 위해 장기적인 지역발전 비전을 수립해야 할 때”라며, “지리적‧위치적으로 동해안 개발의 최적지인 포항의 미래전략을 세울 싱크탱크를 만들어 박태준 회장님이 못다 이룬 꿈을 계속 이뤄나갈 수 있길 바란다”고 강조했다.

김무환 포스텍 총장은 “대학과 도시가 연계하여 상생의 길을 찾아야 한다”며, “연구개발과 창업을 통해 도시와 지역에 끊임없는 성장동력을 제공하는 대학이 되어야 한다”고 말했다.
