【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=DGIST(총장 국양)는 (이하 3개 과학기술원) 삼성전자와 반도체 공정 전문 기술인력 양성을 위한 ‘반도체 계약학과’를 설치한다고 27일 밝혔다.

반도체는 현재 우리나라의 핵심 산업이자 미래 첨단 산업으로 무엇보다 핵심인재가 절대적으로 필요하다.

이 가운데 DGIST는 반도체 전문 인재양성을 위해 27일, 삼성전자 남석우, 김완표 사장, DGIST 국양 총장 등 주요 관계자가 참석한 가운데 반도체 계약학과 설치 및 운영을 위한 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약으로 삼성전자와 채용조건형 반도체 관련 학과를 신설해 운영하는 학교는 성균관대, 연세대, 카이스트, 포스텍에 이어 DGIST, GIST, UNIST까지 추가되며 총 7곳으로 늘어났다.

DGIST는 학·석사 5년제 통합 과정으로 반도체 계약학과를 운영하며, 2024년부터 2028년까지 매년 30명의 신입생을 선발할 예정이다.

또한 인력 육성 상황에 따라 연장도 가능하며 학위 수여자 중 장학생으로 선발되어 삼성전자에 채용된 학생은 반도체 공정 전문 인력으로 양성될 예정이다.

DGIST 국양 총장은 “국내 최고 수준의 DGIST 반도체 연구 및 교육 인프라를 활용하여 현장에서 반도체 기술 혁신을 선도해 나갈 수 있는 글로벌 반도체 전문가로 양성해 나갈 예정이다.”며 “나아가 대구시와 DGIST가 반도체 설계부터 분석까지 진행 가능한 ‘D-FAB’ 구축을 위해 협업하고 있는 만큼, DGIST의 반도체 전문가가 지역의 내 경제와 신산업 창출의 기반이 될 수 있도록 하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

In addition, extension is possible depending on the human resources development situation, and students selected as scholarship students among degree recipients and employed by Samsung Electronics will be trained as semiconductor process experts.
