【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 대구시당이 주소지를 지역구 밖으로 옮겨 의원직을 상실한 대구중구의회 이경숙 의원을 비판하는 성명서를 발표했다.

대구 중구의회 이경숙 의원이 지난 2월 남구 봉덕동으로 주소지를 옮긴 사실이 뒤늦게 확인되어 중구의회가 7일 이 의원의 의원직 상실 절차에 들어간 것으로 확인되었다.

지방자치법 제90조에 따르면 지방의원은 지방자치단체의 구역변경이나 없어지거나 합한 것 외의 다른 사유로 지방자치단체의 구역 밖으로 주민등록을 이전하였을 때 피선거권이 없어지고 지방의회의원의 직에서 퇴직한다.

이에 10일 국민의힘 대구시당은 성명서를 내고 이경숙 의원의 사퇴와 소속 정당인 더불어민주당의 사과를 촉구했다.

이들은 "지역민의 소중한 표를 받아 당선되고 법률에 근거한 의정활동을 해야 하는 지방의원이 이런 어처구니 없는 짓을 저질러 본인의 의원직을 스스로 박탈시킨 사실에 경악을 금치 못하겠다.“고 밝혔다.

그러면서 ”중구구민의 신성한 표를 외면하는 자해행위자“라고 주장하며 “더불어민주당과 이경숙 의원은 중구구민들에게 머리 숙여 사죄해야 마땅하다.”고 강조했다.

국민의힘 대구시당은 “당장 내년에 국민의 혈세로 보궐선거를 치러야 한다.”고 꼬집으며 “참으로 어처구니가 없다.”고 질타했다.

그러면서 “더불어민주당은 이유 여하를 막론하고 하루빨리 진심으로 중구구민에게 죄를 빌어야 할 것”이라고 덧붙여 말했다.

한편 대구 중구의회 사무처는 이경숙 의원에 대해 “전출시점부터 법에 의해 퇴직 처리가 적용된다.”고 밝혔다. “이에 따라 퇴직 이후 지급된 의정비 등에 대해 환수 조치 할 예정"이라고 전했다.
