시는 이번 대회기간 동안 선수단이 김천에 체류하면서 숙박업소, 음식점, 편의점, 제과점 등을 이용해 지역 소상공인들에게 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이번 대회를 개최하는 김천시는 36만㎡ 규모의 김천종합스포츠타운 내 14개의 체육시설을 보유한 전국 최고의 인프라를 보유하고 있다.

이를 바탕으로 공격적이고 활발한 스포츠마케팅을 펼쳐 연간 40여 개의 전국규모 대회와 30여 개 팀의 전지훈련을 유치하는 등 뛰어난 노하우를 바탕으로 대한민국 스포츠특화도시로 발돋움하고 있다.

김천시 관계자는 “전통과 권위 있는 ‘제49회 회장기 전국초등학교 탁구대회’를 김천시에서 개최하게 되어 기쁘게 생각한다”며 “대한민국 탁구 유망주들이 김천에서 모두 모여 각자의 기량을 최대한 발휘할 수 있도록 아낌없는 지원을 하겠다.”고 말했다.
