9일 시는 지난 7일 2023학년도 신입생 배치고사를 치르는 김천고등학교를 방문해 신입생 및 학부모를 대상으로 김천시 전입 지원 혜택을 홍보했다고 밝혔다.

이날 입학 설명회에서 타 시군에서 우리시로 전입하는 신입생에게 교복지원금, 전입지원금 및 기숙사비지원금 등 전입 시 받을 수 있는 혜택에 대해 안내했다.

중·고등학생의 경우 김천시로 전입 시 ▲전입지원금 20만원 ▲기숙사비지원금 학기당 30만원 ▲교복지원금 30만원 지원 등의 혜택이 있다.

이삼근 기획예산실장은 “지방도시 대부분이 인구가 감소하고 있지만, 우리시는 아직까지 혁신도시와 산업단지 조성 등으로 외부 전입자가 많은 상황이다. 인구감소문제는 지방이 해결해야할 가장 시급한 과제이기 때문에 우리시는 다양한 인구정책을 발굴하여 지방소멸에도 적극적으로 대응하겠다.”고 말했다.

한편 김천시는 다음 달부터 관내 중‧고등학교 및 대학교에 직접 방문하여 전입신고를 접수받는 ‘찾아가는 현장전입반’을 운영할 예정이다.
