이번 캠페인은 대한적십자사 울산혈액원 주관으로, 이동식 헌혈버스 4대가 포항캠퍼스를 방문하여 진행됐다. 에코프로 임직원 170여 명은 자발적으로 참여해 헌혈을 하며, 헌혈증 기부 활동에도 참여하여 의미를 더했다. 임직원들이 기부한 헌혈증은 혈액질환 등 수혈이 필요한 환자들에게 사용될 예정이다.

에코프로는 2017년부터 사내 헌혈 캠페인을 꾸준히 진행해왔으며, 올해 2월까지 총 1800여 회의 헌혈을 기록하며 생명 나눔을 실천하고 있다. 또한, 지난해 6월에는 청주시로부터 헌혈 유공 기관 표창을 받았으며, 9월에는 이종철 상무가 포항 지역 에코프로 그룹사를 대표해 헌혈홍보위원으로 위촉되어 다양한 홍보 활동을 펼치고 있다.

에코프로 관계자는 "분기별로 헌혈 캠페인을 진행하며 혈액 수급 안정화에 기여하고 있다"며, "올해부터는 사내 정책으로 헌혈증서 기증제도를 도입하여 연말에 기부한 헌혈증을 회사 명의로 일괄 기부할 예정"이라고 말했다.
