에코프로는 지난 21일 포항시 북구 신광면 만석2리 일원에서 ‘행복마을 조성 사업’의 일환으로 벽화봉사활동을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 활동에는 지역 주민과 자원봉사자 등 150여 명이 참여했으며, 이 가운데 에코프로 임직원과 가족 40여 명도 직접 현장에 나서 사회공헌 활동에 동참했다.

행사의 핵심인 벽화 그리기는 노후화된 농촌 주택의 외관을 개선하고, 방문객에게 따뜻한 농촌 이미지를 전달하기 위해 추진됐다. 봉사단은 ‘사랑그리다’ 벽화봉사단과 함께 마을 담장과 외벽을 정비하고 도색 작업을 진행했으며, 미나리·사과·고구마 등 지역 특산물을 주제로 한 벽화를 조성해 마을 경관을 한층 밝게 꾸몄다.

이와 함께 생활 밀착형 봉사활동도 병행됐다. 부학사랑봉사회는 어르신들에게 맞춤형 돋보기를 전달했고, 둥지회와 브릿지U는 노후 방충망을 수리·교체하며 주거환경 개선을 지원했다. 또 미소짜장면봉사회는 현장에서 식사를 제공하며 주민과 봉사자 간 소통의 장을 마련했다.

행사 안전 관리를 위해 수도방위사령부와 포항전우회도 지원에 나서며 민·관 협력 봉사의 의미를 더했다.

에코프로는 2021년부터 포항시자원봉사센터와 협력해 연 2회 ‘행복마을 조성 사업’을 지속 추진하고 있으며, 임직원이 직접 참여하는 실천형 사회공헌활동으로 지역사회에 활력을 불어넣고 있다.

에코프로 관계자는 “임직원과 가족이 함께 참여해 주민들과 소통하며 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 성장하는 기업으로서 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
