에코프로는 13일 경북 포항 학산종합사회복지관에서 홀몸 어르신과 거동이 불편한 장애인 등 주민 200여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘일어설 날!’ 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 설 명절의 전통적 의미를 살려 지역 주민이 자연스럽게 참여하고 어울릴 수 있도록 체험 중심 프로그램으로 구성됐다. 체험 부스는 ▲복주머니 낚기 ▲복주머니 키링 만들기 ▲건강차 시음 ▲떡국 떡 및 명절 음식 나눔 ▲새해맞이 문화공연 ▲해와 말 포토존 등으로 운영됐다. 에코프로 임직원들은 각 부스 자원봉사자로 참여해 행사 진행을 도우며 주민들과 소통했다.

에코프로는 지난해부터 학산종합사회복지관과 협력해 지역 취약계층을 위한 지원 활동을 이어오고 있다. 회사 관계자는 “지속가능한 사회공헌 전략과 임직원의 자발적 참여를 기반으로 한 행사”라며 “지역 나눔 문화 확산과 문화복지 기반 조성에 기여할 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “앞으로도 지역 주민의 문화 접근성을 높이고 지역사회 연대를 강화하는 활동을 지속하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

앞서 에코프로는 지난 10일 포항시에 생활용품 835세트(1천만 원 상당)를 전달했다. 이는 명절을 앞두고 소외감을 느낄 수 있는 이웃들에게 위로를 전하기 위해 마련됐다. 임직원들은 포항 흥해읍 내 5개 경로당도 직접 방문해 물품을 전달할 예정이다.

본사가 위치한 충북 청주에서도 사회공헌 활동이 이어졌다. 지난 9일 임직원 봉사단 ‘에코랑’은 혜능보육원을 찾아 중·고등학생들과 과자 만들기 체험을 진행했다.

또한 에코프로는 13일 청주시와 ‘지역경제 활성화 및 지역사랑 실천’을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다. 직원 복지포인트의 일부를 ‘청주사랑상품권(청주페이)’으로 지급해 지역 소상공인 소득 증대에 기여한다는 계획이다.

한편, 에코프로는 지속적인 지역 상생 활동을 인정받아 지난해 보건복지부가 주관하는 지역사회공헌인정제에서 최고 등급(S등급)을 획득하며 7년 연속 지역사회공헌 인정기업으로 선정됐다. 이어 지난해 11월에는 충북장애인체육회 감사패를, 12월에는 행정안전부장관 표창을 수상하는 등 사회적 책임 경영 성과를 이어가고 있다.

Ecopro Spreads Warmth in Pohang and Cheongju for Lunar New Year, Practicing Community Coexistence

Ecopro shared its warmth by engaging in various social contribution activities for vulnerable communities in the region during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Ecopro announced that it held the "Rise Up Day!" event on the 13th at the Haksan Community Welfare Center in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, with approximately 200 residents, including senior citizens living alone and people with disabilities with limited mobility.
