【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단(이사장 배광식) 산하 작은도서관이 2026년 1월부터 유아, 초등학생, 성인을 대상으로 한 1분기 문화강좌 프로그램을 운영한다.

재단은 연령과 관심사를 반영해 맞춤형 강좌를 개설함으로써 생활 속에서 쉽게 문화를 접하고 독서 환경을 확대하겠다는 방침이다.

북구영어작은도서관은 초등학생을 위해 영어 독서 수준에 맞춘 단계별 프로그램을 준비했다. 초급, 중급, 고급반을 나눠 ‘SR & AR I·II’, ‘그림책 속 파닉스 챌린지’ 등 체계적인 영어 독서 수업을 선보인다. 더불어 6~7세 유아를 대상으로 한 ‘영어그림책 타임머신’, ‘책 속으로 쏙! 영어그림책 탐험대’도 마련했다. 성인을 위한 'Thema Talking Class'까지 포함해 총 8개 강좌에서 96명을 모집한다.

서변동작은도서관은 유아 대상 ‘Story Adventures’, 초등학생을 위한 ‘인물로 쉽게 만나는 맨 처음 세계사’, 성인을 위한 ‘천에 그리는 꽃그림 등 5개 강좌를 진행한다. 노원행복작은도서관에서는 성인 대상 ‘Singing With Stories’ 프로그램이, 침산1동 작은도서관에서는 ‘자연을 담은 천아트’ 강좌가 각각 마련된다.

현재 북구에는 침산1동 작은도서관을 포함한 6개의 구립 작은도서관이 운영 중이다. 주민들은 가까운 생활권에서 다양한 문화활동과 독서서비스를 누릴 수 있다. 이 가운데 북구영어작은도서관은 영어 특화 도서관으로 자리매김하며, 영어 도서 및 프로그램을 통해 일상에서 쉽게 영어 학습을 이어갈 수 있는 열린 문화공간이라는 평가를 받고 있다.

서변동작은도서관은 순회사서 지원사업, 마을공동체 운영 강화, 꿈키움 책배달 사업 등을 통해 독서문화 격차 해소에 힘썼다. 이러한 공로를 인정받아 2024년 도서관 운영 유공 우수도서관으로 선정, 문화체육관광부 장관상을 수상했다. 산격1동 작은도서관은 웹툰 특화 도서관으로 운영되며, 지역 사회의 문화 사랑방 역할을 하고 있다.

행복북구문화재단 관계자는 “앞으로도 작은도서관을 거점으로 세대별 맞춤 프로그램을 꾸준히 확대해 나가겠다”며, “더 많은 주민이 일상에서 문화를 경험할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Currently, Buk-gu operates six district-run small libraries, including the Chimsan 1-dong Small Library. Residents can enjoy a variety of cultural activities and reading services within their immediate vicinity. Among these, the Buk-gu English Small Library has established itself as an English-focused library, recognized as an open cultural space where English books and programs make it easy to continue learning English in everyday life.

The Seobyeon Small Library has worked to bridge the reading culture gap through programs such as traveling library support, strengthening community activities, and the Dream Tree Book Delivery Project. In recognition of these contributions, the library was selected as an Outstanding Library for its outstanding library operations in 2024 and received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. The Sangyeok 1-dong Small Library specializes in webtoons and serves as a cultural hub for the local community.

An official from the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation stated, "We will continue to expand tailored programs for each generation, leveraging the Small Library as a hub. We will strive to ensure that more residents can experience culture in their daily lives."
