【브레이크뉴스 】이성현 기자=더불어민주당 대구시당 여성위원회(이하 여성위)는 17일 달서구의회 소속 국민의힘 A의원의 성희롱 및 동료 의원들에 대한 인격모독 발언에 대하여 강력 규탄했다.

이와 더불어 이번 사건을 무마하기 위해 성희롱 피해 여성을 회유하려 한 더불어민주당 소속 B의원에 대하여도 강도 높은 비난과 함께 두 의원의 사퇴를 종용하는 달서구의회 의원들의 주장을 지지한다고 밝혔다.

여성위는 “지난 10일 언론에 보도된 달서구의회 A의원의 성희롱 발언과 동료의원에 대한 모욕성 발언은 피해자 뿐 아니라 여성인격에 대한 모독”이라며 “여성들을 성적 희롱 혹은 성적 가십거리로 치부하는 성인지 감수성의 결여를 여실히 드러냈다”고 주장했다.

그러면서 해당의원의 즉각적인 사퇴와 대구광역시 달서구의회 윤리특별위원회 차원의 해당의원 제명을 강력 촉구한다고 밝혔다. 여성위는 또, 피해자의 안위는 고려하지 않은 채 사건의 무마를 시도한 민주당 자당 소속 B의원의 2차 가해에 대해서도 깊은 유감을 표하면서 “달서구의원들이 기자회견에서 밝힌 A, B 두 의원의 사퇴촉구 의사를 지지한다”고 거듭 강조했다.

여성위는 이와 함께 정당 소속으로 “피해 당사자에게 해당의원을 대신해 머리 숙여 사과의 말씀을 드린다”며 “차후 이러한 일이 또 다시 발생하지 않도록 당 차원의 더욱 강력한 성폭력예방 교육 및 성인지감수성, 인권교육 실시를 약속드린다”고 강조했다.

한편, 달서구의회 국민의 힘 소속 A 의원은 평소 학교 선후배 사이이면서 친분이 있는 M 일보 여기자에 누가 늘어도  수치심을 일으킬 정도의 수위가 높은 단어들을 사용해가며 성희롱했다는 의혹이 일었다. 이 여기자는 그동안 수차례 A 의원으로부터 이같은 이야기를 듣고 참다못해 여성 의원들에게 고백했으며, 달서구의회 여성 의원들은 여야를 넘어 해당 의원의 제명을 촉구했다. 해당 여기자는 A 의원을 검찰에 고발했다.

성희롱과는 별도로 이 사건을 의회 차원에서 덮으려는 시도도 있었던 것으로 알려졌다. 공교롭게 사건을 무마하고자 했던 측은 더불어민주당 소속 B 의원으로, 해당  여기자에 직접 전화해 “의회를 대표해 전화한다”고 분명히 밝히고는 “나를 봐서라도 봐달라”고 회유한 것으로 알려졌다.
