4일 달서구의회에 따르면 구의원 12명과 의회사무국 직원 3명 등 15명이 호주와 뉴질랜드로 국외연수를 다녀왔다.

지난달 14일부터 6박 8일간 진행된 연수는 달서구에서 추진 중인 역점시책 사업 관련 우수사례 비교 견학을 위해 진행된 것으로 일부 개인부담금을 제외하고 5천 250만원의 비용이 들어간 것이 확인된다.

그러나 이들이 일정 내내 술판을 벌이는 등 불성실한 태도를 보인 것으로 알려지면서 비판 여론이 일었다.

출국을 위해 인천공항으로 가는 버스 안에서부터 시작된 술자리는 현지에서도 이어진 것으로 전해진다. 뿐만 아니라 건강상의 이유로 일부 연수 일정에 참가하지 않은 A의원이 일부 의원과 말다툼을 벌였다는 소식까지 들려와 논란은 쉽게 가라앉지 않을 전망이다.

이와 관련 달서구의회는 “음주 등 논란에 대해 사실여부를 파악 중이다”고 밝혔다.
