【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 달서구청 장애인 수영팀이 지난 20일부터 22일까지 제주종합경기장 실내수영장에서 열린 ‘제18회 제주특별자치도지사배 전국장애인수영대회’에서 금메달 2개와 은메달 2개를 획득하며 전국 최상위권 실력을 다시 한번 확인했다.

대한장애인수영연맹과 제주특별자치도장애인수영연맹이 공동 주최한 이번 대회에는 전국 16개 시도에서 300여 명의 선수가 참가해 치열한 경쟁을 펼쳤다.

달서구청 수영팀은 배영, 평영, 접영 100m 종목에 출전해 강정은 선수가 배영 100m에서 금메달을, 강주은 선수가 평영 100m에서 은메달을 각각 차지했다. 특히 접영 100m 결승에서는 강주은 선수가 1분 19초 21의 기록으로 1위를 차지해 금메달을, 강정은 선수는 1분 22초 13으로 은메달을 획득하며 함께 시상대에 올랐다.

이번 성과는 지난 4월 울산광역시에서 열린 전국장애인수영대회에서 금 3개, 은 1개의 성적을 거둔 데 이어 연속 수상으로, 하반기에 열릴 전국장애인체육대회 등 주요 대회에서의 활약도 기대를 모은다.

이태훈 달서구청장은 “꾸준한 훈련과 열정으로 전국대회에서 좋은 성적을 낸 선수들에게 큰 박수를 보낸다”며 “앞으로도 장애인 체육 활성화와 선수들의 지속적인 성장을 위해 아낌없는 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
