대구 달서구청 공무원이 1억 2천만원을 횡령하고 구속 기소된 사실이 뒤늦게 알려진 가운데 지역사회가 달서구청의 행정과 구청장의 책임있는 조치를 촉구하고 나섰다.
우리복지시민연합은 7일 성명을 내고 달서구청의 감사 기능 상실을 지적하고 “그동안 내부에서도 쉬시하고 숨겨왔다는 비난에 직면해 있다”며 “이 사건의 해당 부서 전체에 대한 철저한 감사와 문책, 또 죄질이 몹시 나쁜 (공무원)김씨를 비롯한 공동정범들에게 검찰의 엄한 처벌”을 촉구했다.
우리복지시민연합은 이와 함께 달서구청의 해명과 관련해서도 “사전에 예방은커녕 뻔히 보고 당했다는 달서구청의 해명을 듣고 있으면 이태훈 구청장의 구정 운영 능력의 한계를 보는 듯하다”고 강조하고 “누가, 무엇을, 어디까지 개입했는지 이태훈 구청장은 명명백백하게 밝혀 그 책임을 엄중히 물어야 할 것”이라고 강조했다.
