【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 달서구가 앞으로 모든 정책의 수립 단계에서부터 아동 권리를 적극 반영하는 ‘아동정책영향평가’를 전면 도입한다. 이로써 아동친화 행정이 한층 강화될 전망이다.

달서구는 10일, 정책과 사업 전반에 아동 권리가 체계적으로 반영되도록 아동정책영향평가를 시행한다고 밝혔다.

구는 지난 6일, 아동친화도시 중점사업 부서장들이 참여하는 ‘아동친화도시 추진단 회의’를 열고 주요 추진 과제를 점검했다. 이어 9일에는 아동 관련 전문가와 민관 협력 기구가 참석한 ‘아동친화도시 추진위원회’ 회의를 개최해, 2026년까지 추진될 아동친화도시 조성사업 전반을 논의했다.

아동정책영향평가는 새로 도입되는 정책이나 사업이 아동에게 미칠 긍정적·부정적 영향을 사전에 검토하는 제도다. 정책 수립 단계에서 아동 권리의 관점이 설계에 녹아들게 하여, 사업 설계 및 집행 과정에서 아동 안전, 참여, 복지 등이 빠지지 않도록 하겠다는 취지다.

구 관계자는 “이번 제도 도입으로 정책 추진 전 과정에 아동 권리 관점을 체계적으로 반영하고, 아동의 생활 환경과 권익에 대한 영향을 세밀하게 점검할 방침”이라고 설명했다.

또한 달서구는 2026년 조직 개편을 통해 ‘아동친화과’를 신설해 아동 정책 전담 기능도 강화했다. 앞으로 아동 권리 중심 정책 추진, 아동 참여 확대, 아동 보호 체계 강화 등 보다 전문적이고 체계적인 아동 정책을 이어간다는 계획이다.

이태훈 달서구청장은 “아동정책영향평가를 통해 모든 정책을 아동의 시각에서 점검하고 개선해 나가겠다”며 “아동이 안전하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있는 아동친화도시 달서를 만들기 위해 꾸준히 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
