김 예비후보는 “경선 구도엔 전혀 영향이 없다”며 단일화 효과를 일축했다.

국민의힘 예비경선은 선거인단 투표 50%, 일반 국민 여론조사 50% 비중으로 후보를 선출한다.

그러나 정치권 일부에서는 김용판 예비후보가 단일화의 파급력을 줄이기 위해 전략적으로 해당 발언을 내놓은 것이라는 분석이 나오고 있다.
