이어 “유권자와 개혁신당 지지자들에게 진정성을 줄 수 없는 급한 행보는 오히려 해가 된다”고 평가절하했다.

특히 단일화론에 대해선 “처음부터 관심 없었고, 앞으로도 그럴 것”이라며 분명한 선을 그었다. 사실상 보수 내 ‘빅텐트’론을 부정한 셈이다.

이번 발언은 김문수 후보가 윤석열 대통령과의 거리를 좁히며 당내 결속을 도모하는 가운데, 이준석 후보가 차별화를 통해 개혁보수의 정체성을 강조하려는 전략과 맞물려 있다.
