【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자=공식적인 이준석 지지 모임인 국바세(국민의힘 바로 세우기)가 18일 보수 성지 대구에서 주최한 ‘토크 콘서트’에 참석한 이준석 전 대표가 김기현 의원을 겨냥해 “(김기현 후보는) 누구에게 조종을 받고 있는지 유권자를 만나면 들어보라”고 말했다.

이 전 대표의 이같은 발언은 이 전 대표를 향한 김기현 후보의 최근 발언 때문이다. 김 후보는 최근 당 대표 도전에 나선 신예 천하람 후보를 지원하고 있는 이준석 전 대표를 향해 “이런식으로 뒤에서 조종할 바에야 직접 출마하라“고 말한 바 있다. 

이 전 대표는 ”장난하는 것도 아니고 당원권 정지 먹여놓은 다음에 직접 출마하지 그러냐 그러는 것은 약올리려고 하는 것“이라며 ”천하람 후보와 우리 천하용인 후보들은 저와의 정치적 동지 관계로 오랫동안 많은 일을 상의해왔다. 조종하고 그런 관계 아니다“라고 강조했다. 그러면서 ”굳이 제가 김기현 후보께 반문하겠다. 제가 만약에 천하람 후보를 뒤에 조종하고 있다고 생각하신다면 김기현 후보는 누구의 조종을 받고 있는지 한번 유권자들을 만날 때 물어보시기 바란다. 그럼 아마 더 명확한 답이 나올 것“이라고 말했다.

천하람의 당 대표는 물론, 기타 최고위원 후보들의 전당대회 승리에 대한 확신도 가득했다.  당 대표 선거와 관련, 이 전 대표는 ”안철수 후보와의 경쟁보다는 저희는 결선투표를 준비하고 있다 “고 했다. 이 전 대표는 ”투표율은 높을 것이고, 그렇다면 천하람 후보는 결선에 진출해서 많은 사람들의 이목을 집중시킬 것이기 때문에 무난하게 당선될 수 있을 것“이라고 거듭 강조했다.

그러면서 ”유승민 의원을 응원했던 분들이나 개혁보수의 아젠다를 응원했던 분들이 모여 개혁보수가 공유하는 어려운 경험을 반목의 기미가 생길 때마다 화합으로 뭉칠 수 있는 그런걸 만들어달라“고 호소했다. 

이 전 대표는 ”요즘 천하람 후보가 많이 듣는 이야기가 ‘이준석이랑 다니지 말라’ 이런 말들이다. 내가 예전에는 유승민과 다니지 말라는 말을 제일 많이 들었다. 이런 말을 하는 사람들은 어떻게 하면 분열시킬지에 대한 생각밖에 없는 것 같다. 이런 것에 당하지 않는 개혁보수가 되겠다“고 말했다.
