송경창 (국민의힘) 경산시장 예비후보가 26일 경산시외버스정류장 건너 경산종합약국 건물에 마련된 자신의 선거사무실 문을 열었다. 

송경창 경산시장 예비후보는 정치적 경륜은 아직 부족한 것으로 팡가받는다. 그러나 경산시 부시장, 포항시 부시장, 경상북도청 경제과학 분야 실•국장을 역임하면서  도시 경영 방법을 배웠고, 이우근, 김관용 전 경북도지사와 이철우 현 경북도지사 등 경북의 인사들과 28년간의 공직생활을 하며 다양한 행정을 경험한 행정 베테랑으로 평가받는다.

특히 지난 제20대 대통령선거에서는 국민의힘 영입 인재로 발탁,정치에 입문해 민생경제특보와 석동현 전)상임대외특보가 이끄는 희망특별본부 경북 경산지역단장을 맡아 경산지부 희망특별포럼 창립대회를 개최하는 등 새로운 정부 탄생을 위해 노력해 온 점도 인정받고 있다. 

이날 개소식에는 약 400여개의 화환과 축하 화분이 건물 전체를 덮을 정도로 그에 대한 관심이 높았다. 주요 참석 인사로는 홍석준 국회의원(대구 달서갑)과 권미진 전)윤석열 국민캠프 청년위원회 정책위 부위원장, 김명랑 여성경제인 연합회 경북도지회장이 직접 축사를 했다. 

홍석준 의원은 “지방기업들이 정말 어렵다. 이대로라면 경산이 직견탄을 입을 수 있다. 제대로 일할 수 있는 사람이 돼야한다. 오랫동안 지켜봐 온 송경창은 실제로 일을 해보고 성과를 거둔 사람”이라고 말했다.

새 정부 인수위측에서는 김병준 지방균형발전특별위원장, 윤상현 국회의원, 정희용 국회의원 등 국민의힘 내빈이 축전을 보내왔으며 특히, 석동현 전)윤석열 대통령 후보 상임대외협력특보는 “윤석열을 지지해주신 경산 시민께 감사를 드린다. 정권교체를 위해 힘쓴 송경창 예비후보에게  윤석열 당선인도 감사하고 있다. 송경창 예비후보를 꼭 지지해달라”는 축하 영상을 보냈다. 이외에 정석현 전)경산시의회의장과 권용근 영남신학대학교 총장이 격려사를 했다.
