8일 문경시에 따르면 이동욱은 3:53.84로 뛰어 3:54.03을 차지한 랭킹 1위 포항시청 박대성 선수를 제치고 정상에 올랐다. 2022년 시즌 첫 우승이라는 성과를 이루어내며 문경시의 이름을 알렸다.

이동욱은 올해 전국대회에서 꾸준히 메달을 획득하였고, 특히 제60회 도민체육대회 10km 단축마라톤에서 1위를 차지하는 등 우수한 성적을 거두었다.
