【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군은 행정안전부 주관 ‘2022년 지자체 인구감소 대응 우수사례 경진대회’에서 장려상과 특별교부세 5억원의 인센티브를 확보했다고 15일 밝혔다.

이번 경진대회는 인구감소와 지방소멸의 위기에 대응하기 위한 우수사례를 발굴·선정해 널리 확산하고자 서울과 세종을 제외한 15개 시·도 89개 인구감소지역, 18개 관심지역이 참여했다.

1차 전문가 서면심사로 광역 2건, 기초 15건, 총 17건이 선정됐고, 지난 14일 정부세종청사에서 열린 본심사를 거쳐 최종 순위가 결정됐다.

영덕군 도시디자인과의 ‘트레킹 청년마을을 통한 청년 유입 및 지역 연계사업 확대’ 사례는 영덕 블루로드 및 지역자원을 활용해 트레킹이라는 로컬 특화 사업으로 관계인구를 확대한 점, 청년 유입 소프트웨어와 결합한 각종 하드웨어 연계사업을 통해 주거 공간, 창업 공간을 마련함으로써 정착 청년의 증대에 기여한 점 등이 높은 평가를 받았다.

한편, 영덕군은 인구감소에 따른 지방소멸 위기에 대응해 신규 투자사업 발굴에도 행정력을 집중하고 있으며, 내년 시행을 앞둔 ′인구감소지역 지원 특별법′에 따른 관련 조례 개정과 함께 결혼, 출산, 양육지원 등 다양한 인구감소 대책을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
