26일 군위군 맑은물사업소에 따르면 지난 20일 오전 4시경 효령배수지의 탁도가 기준치(0.5NTU 이상)을 초과한 후 점차 확대된 적수는 의흥, 우보에 이어 22일에는 산성배수지까지 기준치를 초과하게 됐다.

민원이 발생하자 군은 수질안정과 주민피해 최소화를 위해 비상상황실을 구성하고 긴급 복구에 나섰다.

23일 대구지방환경청 및 경상북도 관계자가 참석한 가운데 한국종합기술 문진환 전무, 안동대학교 김영훈 교수를 자문위원으로 초빙해 상황판단회의를 실시했다.

당초 해당 원인을 ‘외부 충격으로 인한 송수관 내벽 이물질 발생’으로 추정하던 관계자들은 상황판단회의를 통해 외부충격 가능성은 희박하여 원인규명을 위한 정밀조사가 필요하다는데 의견을 모았다.

이에 군은 희의 당일 바로 김진열 군수를 본부장으로 한 비상대책본부를 꾸리고 수자원공사 낙동강수도지원센터 전문가를 통해 진상조사에 착수한 상황이다.

한편 군은 22일 오후 5시 36분경부터 4차례 안내문자를 발송하여 식수 음용을 제한하고 관련한 사항들을 안내했으며, 부서 협조체계 가동으로 지난 23일과 25일 군청 전직원을 동원하여 적수발생지역 총 5개면 약 5,800세대에 생수(2리터) 약 90,000병을 배부했다. 또한 급수차(8톤) 3대를 지원하여 학교 및 음식점 위주로 공급했다. 이는 앞으로 수질이 안정화 될 때까지 계속적으로 지원할 예정이다.

현재 맑은물사업소에서는 수질안정과 민원대응을 위해 평일 야간근무, 주말 전직원 근무에 매진하고 있으며, 상황발생시 피해지역에 즉각적으로 안내하는 등 불편 최소화를 위해 적극 대응하고 있다.
