이번 설 연휴는 전년 대비 휴일이 4일 줄어들어(10일→6일) 귀성·귀경 수요가 특정 날짜에 집중될 것으로 예상된다. 이에 따라 항공기와 열차, 고속·시외버스를 이용한 일평균 이동 수요도 다소 증가할 것으로 전망된다.

대구시는 늘어나는 교통 수요에 대응하기 위해 항공 2회, 열차 41회, 시외버스 15회, 고속버스 25회 등 평시 대비 하루 총 83회를 증회 운행한다. 이와 함께 2월 13일부터 18일까지를 특별교통대책 기간으로 지정해 종합적인 교통 관리에 나선다.

연휴 전에는 구·군과 대구공공시설관리공단, 동부·남부순환도로㈜ 등 관계기관과 합동으로 주요 관문도로와 간선도로의 노면 상태 및 교통시설물에 대한 사전 점검·정비를 실시했으며, 주요 여객터미널 6곳에 대해서도 집중 점검을 완료했다.
