【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=김진열 군위군수와 군위군청 간부들이 15일 오전 도청을 찾아 이철우 경북도지사를 내방했다.

경북도에 따르면 이날 김 군수와 군위군 공무원이 모금한 고향사랑기부금(500만원)을 이철우 도지사에게 쾌척하며 고향에 대한 애정을 표현했다.

이 자리에는 군위 출신 도청향우회 회장인 오상철 자치행정과장을 비롯한 향우공무원들도 함께했다.

지난해 7월 1일 군위군이 대구시로 편입된 이후 8개월 여 만에 첫 만남을 가진 이철우 도지사와 김 군수는 그간의 소회를 밝히며 인사를 나누기도 했다.

이철우 도지사는 오랜만에 고향을 찾아온 이들을 그냥 보내기가 못내 아쉬워 오찬까지 함께하며 남은 회포를 풀었다.

이날, 김진열 군위군수는 “비록 몸은 대구시에 있지만 마음은 언제나 고향인 경상북도에 있다”라며 “기부금이 얼마되지 않지만 저와 직원들의 작은 정성이다. 경북도 발전에 조금이나마 보탬이 됐으면 한다. 앞으로도 경북도와 교류를 지속해서 고향 발전에 기여하고 싶다”고 밝혔다.

이철우 경북도지사는 “시집 보낸 딸이 오랜만에 친정 부모를 만나러 온 듯 설렌다. 대구로 시집 보낼 때는 생니를 뽑는 심정이었는데, 지금은 군위가 대구의 중심이 돼 있어 기쁘다”며 “경상북도와 군위는 어디에 있든 언제나 한 가족이다. 앞으로 대구경북신공항을 비롯해 양 지역의 발전을 위해 서로 협력해 나가자”고 강조했다.

한편, 군위는 고종 33년(서기 1896년) 8월 4일 훈령 제35호에 의해 13도제가 실시되면서 경상북도에 속하게 되었다. 지난해 7월 1일 자로 대구광역시로 편입되면서 경상북도와 127년의 제도적 인연은 끝나게 됐다.

Gyeongbuk Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “My married daughter is excited as if she has come to meet her parents for the first time in a long time. “When she was married off to Daegu, I felt like having her teeth pulled out, but now I’m happy that Gunwi has become the center of Daegu,” he said. “Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gunwi are always one family, no matter where they are.” He emphasized, “Let’s cooperate for the development of both regions, including Daegu Gyeongbuk New Airport.”

Meanwhile, Gunwi became part of Gyeongsangbuk-do when the 13-do system was implemented by Order No. 35 on August 4, the 33rd year of King Gojong's reign (1896 AD). As of July 1 last year, it was incorporated into Daegu Metropolitan City, ending the 127-year institutional relationship with Gyeongsangbuk-do.
