소상공인지원센터는 시청 본관 3층에 사무실이 있으며, 경산실내체육관 증축동 사무실에 마련된 손실보상창구는 현재까지도 운영 중에 있다. 

센터는 소상공인 간담회 등을 통해 건의된 내용을 반영하여 특례보증 한도 상향 및 이차보전 지원 확대, 경산사랑상품권 발행 확대, 소상공인 자산 보호를 위한 정부 사칭 대출사기 근절을 위한 사업추진 예산편성 등 실질적인 지원책을 시행해 오고 있다.

먼저, 특례보증 및 이차보전 지원액을 늘렸다. 이에 따라 보증규모 확대(100억원 →120억원) , 보증한도 상향(2천만원→3천만원) ,이차보전율 상향(2.5%→3%)하여 소상공인의 이자 부담도 줄였다. 

또 보이스피싱 범죄 경각심 고취 및 특히 정부 지원 대출을 사칭한 사기피해를 근절하고자 올해 3천만원 예산을 편성하여 찾아가는 예방교육과 홍보활동을 통해 소상공인 자산 보호 방안도 마련했다.

특히, (사)한국외식업중앙회에서 건의한 음식물쓰레기 위탁처리 의무 업소 면적을 조례개정을 통해 250㎡로 확대하고 커피류·주류·차류 등 음식물류폐기물 소량 발생 업종은 면적과 관계없이 제외해 80개소가 도움을 받았다. 

경산시는 이달 중에 경북신용보증재단과 함께 대출원금 상환 도래 및 이자 부담을 완화할 수 있는 특단의 지원책을 마련하고 있다.
