예천 용궁면은 오랜 재배 기술과 노하우를 축적한 200여 농가가 44ha 이상의 대규모 수박 재배단지를 조성해 수박을 재배하고 있다.

특히 예천군농업기술센터에서는 연초‘새해농업인 실용교육 수박 과정’을 개설해 농업인에게 전문기술을 교육했으며, 적기 현장 기술지원과 수정벌 공급 시범사업을 통해 맛과 당도가 탁월한 고품질 수박을 생산하고 있다.

예천군농업기술센터 정정호 소장은 “용궁면 수박은 당도가 매우 높아 한번 맛보면 계속 찾게 되는 매력이 있다.”며“앞으로도 농업기술센터에서 농가 소득향상을 위한 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

The crunchy and sweet ‘Honey Watermelon’ grown in Yonggung-myeon, Yecheon-gun is reaching consumers in earnest with its first shipment on the 10th.
