【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 9월부터 외국인유학생이 도내에서 취업에 필요한 경쟁력･정주를 돕기 위한 ‘외국인유학생 취업지원 교육패키지 2.0’ 사업을 시범 시행한다고 3일 밝혔다.

경북도에 따르면 이 사업은 ‘K-Social 교과과정’과 ‘산업캠퍼스 실습인턴제’로 구성되어 있다. 경북도에서는 앞서 ‘K-드림 협업체’의 진지한 논의를 통해 외국인 유학생을 경북으로 유치하여 정착시키는 데 있어 가장 핵심적인 부분이 첫째, 유학생들이 자립할 수 있는 수입을 보장해 주는 부분 둘째, 자국과 다른 생소한 문화를 이해시키는 것이라는 결론을 끌어냈다.

이에 따라 경북도는 시범사업을 시행해 교육-취․창업-지역 정착의 선순환 체계를 구축할 수 있는 모델을 개발하고 시범사업 단계에서 사업을 정교하게 분석해 최적의 모델을 만들 예정이다.

먼저 ‘산업캠퍼스 실습인턴제’는 학생들이 학기 중에 기업에서 인턴을 경험하고 학점도 인정받을 수 있는 수업이다. 구미대와 경북경산산학융합원+대구대+대구가톨릭대 연합의 2곳에서 먼저 시행하며, 구미대는 15명 정원에18학점, 경북경산산학융합원 연합은 30명 정원에 최대 18학점까지 인정받을 수 있다.

수업을 통해 학생들이 기업 현장 분위기에 적응도 하고 현장 실습비를 보장받아 별도의 아르바이트 없이도 학업에 집중할 수 있는 환경을 만들 예정이다.

또한 외국인 유학생들을 경북 내 인력이 부족한 기업들과 서로 매칭해, 지역 뿌리기업은 만성 인력난을 해소하고 유학생들은 취업할 수 있는 Win-Win 전략의 토대를 만들겠다는 복안이다.

둘째로 ‘경북학’수업을 통해 유학생들이 경북의 역사와 문화를 이해할 수 있는 계기를 만들어 줄 예정이다. 특히 경북의 명소를 찾아다니는 현장학습을 필수로 포함시켜 이론으로 배웠던 부분을 현장에서 직접 경험하여 경북에 대한 이해도를 높일 계획이다.

마지막으로 ‘실용한국어’ 교육을 제공하여 외국인 유학생에게 단순한일상 회화를 넘어선 기업에서 사용하는 보고, 회의, 통화, 상담의 필요한 용어를 가르치고 비즈니스 매너 등을 교육하여 미리 취업에 대비하고, 취업 후에도 기업에 빠르게 적응할 수 있도록 한다는 생각이다.

‘경북학’과 ‘실용한국어’ 사업은 경운대, 가톨릭상지대, 영남대 3개 대학에서 시범사업으로 운영되며, 각 수업 당 30명 정원으로 총 180명으로 진행되며 과목당 2~3학점의 교양을 인정받을 수 있다.

이철우 경북도지사는 사업이 “경북 이민정책의 중요한 축인 외국인 유학생을 유치하고 나아가 경북도민으로 길러낼 수 있도록 하는 중요한 시발점이 될 수 있을 것이다”며, “유학생들 사이에 ‘경북에 가면 공부도 하고 취업도 할 수 있다’라는 이미지가 떠오를 정도로 지속적이고 체계적인 사업을 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
