【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구경북경제자유구역청(청장 김병삼, 이하 DGFEZ)은 10월 28일부터11월 1일에 걸쳐 실리콘밸리에서 현지 벤처기업 대상 역내 투자 인센티브를 안내하고 현지 기업의 투자를 독려하기 위한 IR 활동을 추진했다고 5일 밝혔다.

이번 투자유치 IR 프로젝트는 실리콘밸리 지역의 우수한 벤처기업들이(팹리스, 헬스케어, 로봇 등) 대구지역에 속속 투자가 이루어지고 있는 등 북미지역 투자 ‘순풍’에 탄력을 받아 잠재 투자기업 발굴 및 투자유치 업무협력 기관과의 MOU 체결 등을 위한 IR 활동을 전개하기위한 목적으로 실시됐다.

현지 활동기간 중 북미 최대 벤처기업 전시회인「테크크런치 디스럽트 2024」에 참가하여 글로벌 스타트업들을 대상으로 지구 내 투자 인센티브, 지원정책 등의 투자환경을 집중 소개하였으며, 기 발굴한 ICT 타깃기업들에 대한 개별방문 미팅을 추진하였다.

아울러 DGFEZ는과기부 산하 공공기관인 KIC(Korea Innovation Center) 실리콘밸리와 북미지역 내 유망 ICT 기업의 공동 발굴 및 역내 유치에 상호 협력하는 것과 대구, 경북의 유망기업의 북미 진출을 적극 지원하는 것을 주요 내용으로 한 투자유치 업무협력 MOU 체결식을 가졌다.

또한, 한인 유망 벤처기업의 정보교류 확대와 기업 육성 지원 네트워크 구축의 발판을 마련하기 위해 DGFEZ-산타클라라 한인상공회의소간 교류 촉진을 위한 업무협약 MOU를 상호 체결했다.

김병삼 청장은 “미국 실리콘밸리 지역 내 유수의 벤처기업들이 우리지역의 첨단산업 육성에 대한 기업 지원정책과 투자환경의 우수성을 높게 평가하고 있으며, 향후 첨단 디지털 산업의 엔진 역할을 할 수성알파시티에 북미의 첨단 ICT·ABB 기업들이 우리 지역을 선택할 수 있도록 다양한 인센티브 제도를 마련하기 위해 노력하겠다”라고 덧붙였다.
