【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구경북경제자유구역청(DGFEZ)은 수도권 ICT 기업의 지역 이전 및 투자 확대를 위해  10일 서울 강남 호텔페이토에서 ‘수성알파시티 투자유치 설명회’를 개최했다.

이번 설명회는 수도권에 집중된 ICT 기업을 대상으로 영남권의 실리콘밸리로 불리는 수성알파시티의 투자환경과 인센티브를 소개하고, 대구 지역에 대한 인지도를 높여 본사·연구소 유치로 이어지도록 기획됐다.

행사는 (사)한국스마트빌리지협회와의 협력으로 진행됐으며, 협회가 사전에 실시한 수요조사를 토대로 현재 영남권에서 사업을 수행 중인 기업, 또는 향후 대구로 확장을 검토 중인 기업들이 초청됐다. DGFEZ는 참석 기업을 대상으로 수성알파시티의 주요 경쟁력과 투자 매력을 집중 안내했다.

특히 수성알파시티는 총 5,510억 원 규모가 투입되는 ‘지역거점 AX 혁신 기술개발’ 사업이 예비타당성조사 면제 대상에 포함되면서, 관련 기술을 보유한 기업들의 큰 관심을 끌었다. 현장에서는 지역 제조기업과의 기술 매칭을 통한 디지털전환(DX) 투자 가능성 등에 대한 질의도 이어졌다.

DGFEZ는 이번 설명회에 참석한 기업들을 투자유치 대상 기업으로 DB화해 향후 정기 뉴스레터 제공, 지역 전시회 초청, 수성알파시티 현장 시찰 등 후속 유치 활동을 강화할 방침이다.

김희석 DGFEZ 혁신성장본부장은 “수도권 ICT 기업들이 대구 투자 정보 부족과 지역 인력 확보 어려움을 겪고 있다는 점을 확인했다”며 “지역 산·학·연 네트워크를 적극 활용해 기업의 애로를 해소하고, 수성알파시티가 ICT 기업이 가장 선호하는 영남권 실리콘밸리로 성장할 수 있도록 역외 기업 유치에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority Holds "Suseong Alpha City Investment Attraction Briefing" for ICT Companies in the Seoul Capital Area

The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) held the "Suseong Alpha City Investment Attraction Briefing" on the 10th at Hotel Payto in Gangnam, Seoul, to encourage relocation and investment by ICT companies in the Seoul Capital Area.

The briefing was designed to introduce the investment environment and incentives of Suseong Alpha City, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of the Yeongnam region, to ICT companies concentrated in the Seoul Capital Area. It also aimed to raise awareness of the Daegu region and attract headquarters and research centers.

The event was held in collaboration with the Korea Smart Village Association. Based on a preliminary demand survey conducted by the association, companies currently operating in the Yeongnam region or considering expansion to Daegu were invited. The DGFEZ provided a detailed overview of Suseong Alpha City's key competitive advantages and investment appeal to participating companies.

In particular, Suseong Alpha City attracted significant interest from companies with relevant technologies, as the "Regional Hub AX Innovation Technology Development" project, with a total investment of KRW 551 billion, was exempted from the preliminary feasibility study. Questions were also raised on-site about the potential for digital transformation (DX) investments through technology matching with local manufacturing companies.

DGFEZ plans to compile a database of companies that attended this briefing session as potential investment attraction targets and strengthen follow-up activities, including providing regular newsletters, invitations to regional exhibitions, and on-site inspections of Suseong Alpha City.

Kim Hee-seok, Head of the Innovation Growth Headquarters at DGFEZ, stated, "We have confirmed that ICT companies in the Seoul metropolitan area are experiencing a lack of investment information on Daegu and difficulties securing local talent. We will actively leverage the local industry-academia-research network to address these challenges and strive to attract companies from outside the region, enabling Suseong Alpha City to grow into the Yeongnam Silicon Valley, a preferred destination for ICT companies."
