신임 임미애 경북도당위원장은 수락연설을 통해 “경북을 숙주 삼아 기생하고 있는 반민주적 내란 정당과의 대결에 분투하고 있는 경북의 민주 당원 여러분들이 대한민국의 민주주의를 지키는 주인”이라며 “최우선 과제는 내년 지방선거에서 승리 함으로 이재명 정부의 성공을 견인하는 것”이라고 소감을 밝혔다.

또 “경북의 국정과제가 온전히 실현될 수 있도록 국비 예산 확보, 현안 해결을 위해 대구경북을 책임지고 있는 민주당 국회의원으로 최선을 다할 것”이라며 “경북과 이재명 정부의 국정 전체를 관통하는 전략을 수립해 내년 지방선거에서 반드시 승리하겠다”고 강조했다.

임 위원장은 1966년 경북 영주출신으로 경북 의성군의원, 경북도의원을 거쳐 지난 2022년 더불어민주당 경북도당위원장을 역임한 바 있으며 지난 22대 총선에서 비례대표로 국회에 입성해 APEC정상회의 지원특위위원, 국회 산불피해지원대책특위 간사, 국회 예결위원으로 활동하고 있다.

Chairman Lim was born in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do in 1966 and served as a member of the Uiseong County Council and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council before serving as the Chairman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea in 2022.
