올해로 3년 차를 맞는 이번 사업은 가정용 감량기기 160대와 사업용 5대를 지원한다. 지원금은 가정용의 경우 최대 30만 원, 사업용은 최대 50만 원으로, 구매 금액의 50% 이내에서 지원된다.
동구청에 따르면 지난해에는 200여 대의 감량기기를 지원했으며, 500여 대가 넘는 신청이 접수되는 등 주민들의 높은 관심을 받았다. 사업 효과도 뚜렷해 동구의 연간 음식물류 폐기물 발생량은 2023년 2만5,506톤에서 2024년 2만5,245톤, 2025년 2만4,860톤으로 매년 감소 추세를 보이고 있다.
지원 대상은 신청일 기준 대구 동구에 주소를 두고 거주하는 주민 또는 사업장을 둔 사업자다. 지원 대상 제품은 가열·건조 방식이나 미생물 발효 방식 등 감량률이 높고, 품질인증과 안전인증을 모두 획득한 제품이어야 한다.
신청 접수는 오는 8월 진행되며, 우편·온라인·방문 접수 모두 가능하다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “음식물류 폐기물 감량기기 사용을 통해 처리 비용을 절감하고, 쾌적한 생활환경을 조성하고자 한다”며 “주민들의 적극적인 관심과 참여를 기대한다”고 말했다.

Eligible applicants are residents or businesses with a business address in Dong-gu, Daegu, as of the application date. Eligible products must have a high reduction rate, such as those produced using heating/drying or microbial fermentation methods, and must have both quality and safety certifications.
Applications will open in August and can be submitted by mail, online, or in person.
