수성구의회는 지난 3일 열린 제241회 임시회 제1차 본회의에서 ‘기후위기대응 환경 특별위원회’를 구성하고 위원장에 박정권 의원, 부위원장에 김영애 의원을 각각 선출하였다.
기후위기대응 환경 특별위원회는 기후위기와 코로나19 등으로 인한 환경위기를 극복할 실천방안을 제안하고, 지역의 환경 이슈를 공유하는 등 주민들에게 환경위기에 대한 인식 제고를 목표로 한다.
특히 버려지는 자원의 재활용과 재사용을 위한 다양한 방안을 모색함으로써 도시환경을 지키는데 필요한 활동을 펼칠 예정이다.
박정권 위원장은 “이번 특별위원회에서는 전문가와 환경단체를 비롯한 시민단체, 지역사회 구성원이 함께 논의하여 우리구의 환경정책을 제안하고 수립하는 정책적 공간을 마련하겠다”면서 “환경위기 대응을 위한 실직적인 실천으로 주민참여형 특별위원회 활동을 펼쳐나갈 계획이다.”고 말했다.
한편, 박정권 위원장, 김영애 부위원장을 비롯해 김희섭, 육정미, 류지호, 김성년, 김두현, 황혜진 의원 등 8명의 위원으로 구성된 기후위기대응 환경 특별위원회는 구성일로부터 1년간 활동하게 된다.
