조직위는 이번 모집을 통해 15여개의 공식 여행사를 선정할 방침이다. 

공식 여행사로 참여하기 위해서는 관광진흥법에 따른 일반 여행업이나 국내 여행업 등록업체로 최근 3년간 행정 처분(사업정지 10일 이상 또는 과징금 100만원 이상)등의 결격 사항이 없어야 한다.

공식 여행사로 선정된 업체는 단체 관람객 유치와 입장권 대량 판매에 대한 보상금 지급, 공식 휘장 사용권 외에도 다양한 인센티브를 지원받을 예정이다.

신청은 우편 또는 조직위를 방문해 접수 가능하다. 자세한 사항은 엑스포 공식 홈페이지 또는 경상북도·영주시 홈페이지, 한국관광공사, 한국관광협의중앙회, 한국여행업협회(KATA) 등에 공지된 공고문을 참고하면 된다.
