대한적십자사 경북지사(회장 류시문)는 22일 신용회복위원회(위원장 이재연)에서 울진 산불 피해 주민을 위한 주방용품(1천만원 상당)을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

신용회복위원회는 화마로 집과 가재도구 모두 잃은 산불 피해 주민을 위로하기 위해 이번 기부를 결정했다. 

물품은 임직원들이 자발적으로 급여 끝전을 기부해 모은 사회공헌기금인 ‘희망사다리기금’으로 마련했으며 이재민이 임시주택으로 거처를 옮기면 울진군을 통해 전달할 예정이다.

신용회복위원회 이재연 위원장은 “갑작스러운 대형산불로 삶의 터전을 잃어 막막한 피해주민에게 신용회복위원회 직원들의 작은 정성이 위로가 되고, 일상을 회복하는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.

한편, 신용회복위원회는 이번 동해안 지역 산불 피해 주민을 대상으로 찾아가는 채무상담, 채무상환 유예, 채무감면 특례 등을 실시하며 이재민의 일상 회복에 실질적인 도움이 되는 지원 활동을 전개하고 있다.
