이번 국제로타리3700지구의 나드리콜용 차량 기부는 ‘초아의 봉사’라는 이념 실천으로 지역 내 장애인 등 교통약자의 이동권 보장과 사회참여에 도움을 주기 위해 특별교통수단 2대(각 5,300만 원 상당)를 구입해 대구시에 기부하게 됐다.

대구광역시 나드리콜은 교통약자들의 이동 편의를 제공하고 사회참여를 돕기 위해 2009년 특별교통수단 30대로 운행을 개시한 이후 올해로 14년째 사업을 진행하고 있다.

이용대상자는 ‘장애인복지법 시행규칙’에 따른 장애의 정도가 심한 보행상 장애인과 그 외 장애인, 상이등급 3급 이상 국가유공자 및 65세 이상 노약자 중 대중교통 이용이 어렵다는 진단서를 제출한 자에 한해 심사를 거쳐 결정하게 되며 타 지역에 비해 폭넓게 교통약자의 이동권을 보장하고 있다.

 현재 총 490대(특별교통수단 180대, 교통약자 콜택시 310대)의 나드리콜 차량이 운행되고 있으며, 올해에는 특별교통수단 15대를 증차하고 향후에도 꾸준히 늘려갈 예정이다. 

홍준표 대구시장은 “국제로타리3700지구에서 교통약자의 이동권 보장을 위해 나드리콜용 차량을 기부해 주신 데 대해 감사드린다”며, “이웃을 위한 마음으로 지역사회를 훈훈하게 만드는 기부문화가 더욱 확산됐으면 좋겠다”고 밝혔다.
