대상 구간은 ▲무열로(고모로 삼거리) ▲호국로(동화교 네거리) ▲반야월로(율하교 동편네거리)로, 특정 방향으로 차량이 집중되며 병목현상이 발생해 상습적인 정체가 이어지던 지역이다.

이번 사업은 좌·우회전 차로 확충을 통해 차량 흐름을 분산시키고, 불필요한 대기 길이와 신호대기 시간을 줄이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

무열로 고모로 삼거리는 출퇴근 시간 좌회전 차량이 집중되며 대기 행렬이 최대 600m까지 늘어나던 구간으로, 시는 좌회전 차로를 약 90m 연장해 오는 4월 초까지 공사를 완료할 계획이다.

호국로 동화교 네거리는 직진 차량과 우회전 차량이 동일 차로를 이용하면서 정체가 발생해 왔다. 이에 따라 우회전 전용차로를 신설해 교통 흐름을 분리하고, 7월 말까지 공사를 마무리할 예정이다.

반야월로 율하교 동편네거리 역시 직진과 우회전 차량이 한 차로를 공유하면서 혼잡이 심했던 구간으로, 우회전 차로를 추가 확보하는 개선공사를 10월 말까지 완료할 방침이다.

공사가 완료되면 무열로는 차량 대기 길이가 약 50%, 지체시간은 54%가량 감소할 것으로 예상된다. 호국로는 차량당 지체시간이 최대 90%까지 줄어들고, 반야월로 역시 대기 길이와 지체시간이 약 35% 감소하는 등 전반적인 통행 여건이 크게 개선될 전망이다.

특히 동·북구와 수성구, 시지·경산을 잇는 주요 생활권 이동시간 단축 효과도 기대된다.

허준석 교통국장은 “이번 사업은 시민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 생활밀착형 교통 개선사업”이라며 “앞으로도 상습 정체 구간을 지속적으로 발굴·개선해 시민 편의를 높이겠다”고 밝혔다.

Once construction is complete, vehicle waiting times on Muyeol-ro are expected to decrease by approximately 50%, and delay times by about 54%. Overall traffic conditions are projected to improve significantly, with delay times per vehicle on Hoguk-ro expected to decrease by up to 90%, and waiting times and delay times on Banyawol-ro expected to drop by about 35%.

In particular, a reduction in travel times is anticipated for major residential areas connecting Dong-gu and Buk-gu with Suseong-gu, and Siji and Gyeongsan.
