이번 협약에 따라 두 기업은 대구국가산업단지 2단계 구역에 총 295억 원을 투자해 올해 상반기 중 공장 착공에 들어가며, 총 46명의 신규 인력을 채용할 계획이다. 기업별 투자 규모는 천일테크윈㈜ 172억 원, ㈜대원에스디 123억 원이다.

천일테크윈㈜은 1974년 설립된 차량용 전장부품 전문 중소기업으로, 와이어링하네스를 주력 제품으로 생산해 HD건설기계, 두산밥캣, 두산로보틱스, 대동 등 주요 기업에 1,000여 종의 부품을 공급하고 있다. 이번 투자는 관세정책 등 글로벌 리스크에 대응해 중국 사업장을 축소하고 국내로 복귀하면서 대구에 새로운 생산거점을 구축하기 위한 결정이다.

천일테크윈㈜은 대구국가산단 내 1만2,890㎡ 부지에 신규공장을 설립해 기존 제품 생산은 물론 전기차용 고전압 와이어링하네스 부품과 태양광 스마트 정션박스 개발을 통해 국내외 신규 수주 확대에 나설 계획이다.

박준서 천일테크윈㈜ 대표는 “대구를 신규 투자처로 선택한 것은 모빌리티 산업과 연계된 우수한 산업 인프라와 인적 자원이 큰 강점으로 작용했다”며 “이번 투자를 계기로 사업을 확장하고 지역경제 활성화에도 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

㈜대원에스디는 자동차용 및 산업용 자동화 제어장비를 전문적으로 개발·생산하는 기업으로, 1991년 대원엔지니어링으로 출발해 2011년 법인 전환과 함께 현재의 사명으로 변경했다. 현재 성서5차 첨단산업단지에 본사와 연구소를 두고 있으며, 기술 경쟁력과 품질 관리를 바탕으로 자동차 부품업계에서 신뢰를 쌓아왔다.

대원에스디는 최근 신규 아이템 수주와 해외 매출 증가에 따라 기존 경기도 평택, 경북 칠곡 공장에 이어 대구국가산단 내 1만762㎡ 부지에 123억 원을 투자해 자동차용 자동화 제어장비 제조공장을 신설할 예정이다.
