이번 회의에는 관련 실·국장과 대구정책연구원이 참석해, 지난 2차 회의에서 도출된 기본 방향을 토대로 입지 여건과 주변 개발계획을 반영한 개발 콘셉트와 기능 배치의 적정성을 재검토했다. 아울러 현 정부 국정과제와 연계 가능한 사업화 방안에 대해서도 다양한 의견을 교환했다.

특히 기부 대 양여 방식에 따른 사업 여건과 주변 도시환경을 종합적으로 고려해 기존 개발구상을 보다 구체화하고 현실화하는 방향으로 주요 기능 조정 방안을 중점 점검했다.

분야별로는 금융 부문에서 국제 중심 전략에서 국내 수요를 반영한 방향으로 전환하고, 인근 지역 자원과의 연계를 통해 레저·마이스(MICE)·정주 기능을 강화하는 복합 개발 전략을 논의했다. 교육 분야에서는 국제학교와 글로벌 캠퍼스 유치 여건을 감안해 인공지능(AI)과 K-컬처 등 미래 교육 콘텐츠를 중심으로 한 새로운 교육 기능 도입 방안을 모색했다.

항공산업 분야에서는 기존 물류 중심 개발에서 벗어나 도심항공교통(UAM)과 드론, 디지털 기반 첨단의료산업, 시니어 라이프케어 기능 등을 결합한 산업 모델로의 확장 가능성도 함께 검토됐다. 의료클러스터 조성과 관련해서는 대구경북첨단의료복합단지와 학정지구 등 기존 사업과의 기능 중복 여부를 살펴보고, 적정 부지 규모와 재원 조달 여건을 종합적으로 고려해 추진 방향을 재점검했다.

이 밖에도 사업성 제고를 위한 제도 개선 필요성과 제2차 공공기관 이전과 연계한 양여부지 활용 방안 등에 대해서도 논의가 이뤄졌다.

대구시는 앞으로 국군부대 후적지 개발 추진단 논의를 통해 개발구상을 지속적으로 고도화하는 한편, 외부 전문가 자문과 민간 의견 수렴을 병행하고 국정과제 연계 및 제도 개선을 통해 사업 완성도를 높여 나갈 방침이다.
