대구시는 1월 15일(현지시간) 다낭시 인민위원회에서 김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행과 팜 득 안 다낭시 인민위원장이 참석한 가운데, 양 도시 간 핵심 분야 협력을 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다. 이번 협약은 기존 자매도시 교류를 넘어 중·장기 협력 사업을 공동으로 발굴·추진하기 위한 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

MOU에는 관광 및 의료관광 협력, ODA 및 국제개발협력 사업 공동 추진, ICT 및 스마트시티 분야 협력, 상호 투자유치 및 무역 협력 확대 등이 포함됐다.

관광 분야에서는 양 도시 간 관광 교류를 확대하는 한편, 다낭 지역 수요를 대상으로 대구의 의료 인프라를 활용한 건강검진·재활 중심의 의료관광 프로그램 개발에 협력하기로 했다.

ODA 분야에서는 다낭시에 도입된 ‘스마트 통합 도시재난 관리시스템’ 사업을 토대로 후속 협력 가능성을 논의했다. 대구시는 물 관리, 재난 대응 등 강점을 가진 분야를 중심으로 베트남 ODA 사업에서 지역 기업의 참여 기회를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

ICT 및 스마트시티 분야 협력도 강화된다. 양 도시는 기업 간 교류를 지원하는 비즈니스 협력 기반을 구축하고, 공동 프로젝트와 인적 교류 확대를 추진하기로 했다.

이에 앞서 김정기 권한대행은 1월 14일 다낭관광안내센터를 방문해 대구 관광과 의료관광 홍보물을 전시하고, 상호 관광 홍보 협력 방안을 논의했다. 양 도시는 주요 관광 거점에 상대 도시 홍보물을 비치하며 공동 홍보를 추진하기로 했다.

같은 날 다낭소프트웨어파크에서는 ‘대구–다낭 ICT 기업인 간담회’도 열렸다. 이 자리에는 양 도시 관계자와 ICT 기업인 등 50여 명이 참석해 인공지능(AI), 소프트웨어, 스마트시티, 디지털 전환 분야의 협력 가능성을 공유하고, 기업 간 비즈니스 매칭과 공동 프로젝트 추진 방안을 논의했다.

김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행은 “오랜 교류를 이어온 다낭시와 실질적인 협력 성과를 만들어 갈 시점”이라며 “이번 협약을 계기로 지역 기업의 해외 진출과 국제 협력이 확대될 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

대구시는 이번 방문을 계기로 다낭시와의 정기적인 교류 채널을 구축하고, 관광·산업·기술·인재 분야 전반에서 협력이 지속될 수 있도록 협력 기반을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.

On January 15 (local time), Daegu City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Da Nang City People's Committee, attended by Acting Mayor Kim Jung-ki of Daegu and Chairman Pham Duc Anh of Da Nang City, to foster cooperation in key areas between the two cities. This agreement is significant in that it establishes a foundation for jointly exploring and promoting mid- to long-term cooperation projects, extending beyond existing sister city exchanges.

The MOU covers cooperation in tourism and medical tourism, joint promotion of ODA and international development cooperation projects, cooperation in ICT and smart cities, and expansion of mutual investment attraction and trade cooperation.

In the tourism sector, the two cities agreed to expand tourism exchanges between the two cities and collaborate on developing a medical tourism program centered on health screenings and rehabilitation, leveraging Daegu's medical infrastructure to meet the needs of the Da Nang region.

In the ODA sector, the two cities discussed the possibility of follow-up cooperation based on the "Smart Integrated Urban Disaster Management System" project implemented in Da Nang. Daegu plans to expand opportunities for local companies to participate in Vietnam's ODA projects, focusing on areas where Daegu excels, such as water management and disaster response.

Cooperation in the ICT and smart city sectors will also be strengthened. The two cities agreed to establish a business cooperation foundation to support exchanges between companies and to promote joint projects and personnel exchanges.

Prior to this, Acting President Kim Jeong-gi visited the Da Nang Tourist Information Center on January 14th. He displayed promotional materials for Daegu tourism and medical tourism and discussed ways to promote mutual tourism. The two cities agreed to promote each other's products at major tourist destinations and promote joint promotions.

On the same day, the "Daegu-Da Nang ICT Entrepreneurs' Meeting" was held at the Da Nang Software Park.
