대구시는 3월 24일 오후 시청 동인청사에서 ‘주요 후적지 균형개발 협의체’를 구성하고 첫 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협의체는 시내 공공시설 14개소와 군사시설 9개소 등 총 23개 주요 후적지의 개발 현황을 통합 관리하고, 실·국 간 협력을 통해 효율적인 개발 전략을 마련하기 위해 구성됐다.
김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행 주재로 열린 이날 회의에는 관련 실·국장 9명과 광역행정담당관이 참석해 각 후적지별 사업 추진 현황과 주요 현안을 점검하고, 원활한 사업 추진을 위한 협조사항을 논의했다.
회의에서는 정부 국책사업 및 공공기관 이전과 연계한 활용 방안과 함께 후적지별 개발 방향과 기능 설정에 대한 다양한 의견이 제시됐다.
대구시는 앞으로 협의체를 중심으로 후적지 개발의 실행력을 높이고, 정책 여건과 주요 사업 간 연계성을 종합적으로 검토해 나갈 계획이다. 또한 주요 후적지를 단순 개발을 넘어 도심 성장 거점이자 미래 경쟁력 확보를 위한 핵심 공간으로 조성한다는 방침이다.
김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행은 “후적지 균형개발은 도심 재편과 미래 전략사업을 연결하는 중요한 과제”라며 “협의체를 통해 협력체계를 강화하고 실효성 있는 개발 계획을 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu City plans to enhance the implementation of vacated site development through the consultative body and comprehensively review policy conditions and connectivity with major projects.
