대구탈시설장애인자조모임(리더 이수나)은 4일 권영진 대구시장에 감사패를 전달했다. 권 시장이 민선 6,7기 대구시장을 맡으면서 이들 탈시설 장애인자립지원 정책을 선도적으로 추진해 준 것에 대한 감사의 표시라고 했다.

탈시설 당사자인 서금순氏, 장애인지역공동체 박명애 대표 등은 그동안 대구시장이 보여준 장애인에 대한 배려와 탈시설 정책추진에 감사를 전했다.

권영진 대구시장은 그동안 대구시 탈시설 장애인 자립생활 지원정책을 통해 시설이 아닌, 지역사회에서 함께 살 수 있도록 정책을 선도적으로 추진해왔다. 

대구탈시설장애인자조모임 IL클럽(리더 이수나)은 2014년 만들어진 대구지역 유일의 탈시설 장애인 당사자들의 모임으로, 거주 시설에서 퇴소한 동료들의 정서적 교류와 심리적 지지, 탈시설 권리확보를 위한 다양한 활동을 해오고 있다. 

대구시는 민선 6기 시작과 함께 장애인 당사자 및 관련 단체와 소통을 통해 2015년 제1차 장애인 탈시설 자립지원계획을 수립해 체험홈, 자립생활가정 등 탈시설 자립생활 인프라 확충을 시작했다. 

또, 민선 7기에서는 지역사회 통합 돌봄 선도사업 추진과 제2차 탈시설 장애인 자립지원계획을 수립해 탈시설 자립지원정책을 점진적으로 확대 추진하고 있다.

권영진 대구시장은 “장애인 당사자인 여러분에게서 많은 것을 배웠고 함께 부대끼며 장애인의 인권과 자립, 자활을 위해 여기까지 오니 감사패를 받게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 세상은 더 나은 방향으로 전진한다고 믿고 있으며, 어떤 자리에 있든 간에 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어울려 살아갈 수 있는 공동체를 만들어 가는 데 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
