【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 권영진 의원(대구 달서구병)이 개최한 ‘국가도시공원 지정을 위한 국회 정책포럼’이 성황리에 개최됐다.

지난 1일 오후 2시, 국회도서관 소회의실에서 열린 행사는 행사는 국가도시공원이 내실 있게 운영될 수 있도록 제도 개선 및 정책 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 권영진 의원, 맹성규(인천 남동구갑)·이성권(부산 사하구갑)·양부남(광주 서구을) 의원과 박상우 국토교통부 장관을 비롯해 민·관 전문가 및 실무진 등 150여 명이 참석해 열띤 토론을 펼쳤다.

2016년 공원녹지법 개정을 통해 국가도시공원 지정과 정부 예산 지원의 법적 근거가 마련됐지만 까다로운 요건과 절차로 인해 아직 단 한 건의 국가도시공원 지정 사례가 없는 실정이다.

국민 편익 증진을 위해 국가도시공원이 실제로 지정될 수 있도록 실효성 있는 방안 마련이 시급하다.

발제자로 참석한 안승홍 한국조경학회 수석부회장은 “국가도시공원은 국토균형발전의 상징으로서 민간 참여를 통해 일자리 창출에도 큰 기여를 할 것이다”며 “대구 두류공원은 활용 가치가 높고 발전 가능성이 높은 공원인 만큼 국가도시공원으로 지정되면 도시공원 정책의 모범사례가 될 것이다”고 설명했다. 

권영진 의원은 “대구 두류공원은 시민들에게 녹지와 휴양 공간의 역할을 할 뿐만 아니라 건강 증진과 문화 향유의 중심지이자 이월드와 연계된 관광자원으로서 역할을 수행하고 있다”고 하면서 “하루빨리 두류공원같은 지역의 공원을 국가도시공원으로 지정하려면 요건을 완화하는 등 법제도의 개선이 필요하다” 고 밝혔다. 

국토교통부 박상우 장관은  “지방의 공원들이 지역, 나아가 대한민국을 대표하는 공원이 될 수 있도록 다함께 힘을 모아야 한다”며 전폭적 지원을 약속했다.

Ahn Seung -hong, senior vice chairman of the Korean Society for Landscape Architecture, said, “The National Urban Park will contribute to the creation of jobs through private participation as a symbol of national balance development.”

Representative Kwon Young -jin said, “Daegu Duryu Park not only serves as a green and recreational space for citizens, but also serves as a center of health promotion and cultural enjoyment and a tourism resource linked to E -World.”

Park Sang -woo, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, promised full support, saying, “We must work together so that local parks can be the region and even the representative park of Korea.”
